Track leads are supported by four additional teachers who run parallel groups and share marking. Credentials listed reflect each teacher's stated qualifications and classroom record.

Hiring standards

A teacher joins the team only after marking like the team.

Strong credentials get a candidate an interview. They do not get them a classroom. Every teacher passes the same four gates before students ever see their name on a timetable.

Roughly one in eight candidates who interview completes all four gates. We would rather run a waiting list than lower the marking standard.

01 Subject exam and teaching demo

Candidates sit a timed section of the exam they will teach, then run a 20-minute live demo lesson with real students from a current cohort.

02 Marking calibration

The candidate marks 20 real student scripts against our rubric. Scores must land within one band step of the track lead, and comments must follow our two-priority feedback rule.

03 Co-teaching month

The new teacher shares a group with the track lead for four weeks: alternating live sessions, double-marked homework, and a weekly review of what students struggled with.

04 Ongoing feedback audit

Every month the track lead re-reads a sample of each teacher's returned scripts. Marking that drifts from the shared standard triggers recalibration before the next cohort starts.

Teachers follow one rule on every script: two priority corrections, each tied to an exam criterion, each written so you can act on it in your next attempt. Everything else goes in a short “later” list — visible, but not this week's job.

Real marking style

Your position is clear from the introduction — good. But paragraphs two and three argue the same point twice with different examples. Merge them, then use the saved space for a counter-argument. That is where Task Response marks are hiding.

The linking phrases are accurate but mechanical (“Firstly, Secondly, In conclusion”). Replace two of them with references to the actual idea: “A further consequence is…”. Same job, higher Lexical Resource.

Sentence 4 of paragraph three runs 41 words. Split after “however”. You lose nothing and regain control of the grammar.
